TELEVISION, FILM AND NEW MEDIA PRODUCTION MAJOR

Impacted program. The Television, Film and New Media production major is designated as an impacted program. Students first declare as TFM pre-majors. To be considered for admission to the major the student must submit a petition portfolio and meet the following criteria:

  1. Complete Theatre 100 and TFM 160 with a grade of B or higher. These courses may not be taken for credit/no credit (Cr/NC). These classes must be completed, with grades on file, prior to petitioning to be accepted into the major.
  2. Complete a personal statement to be evaluated by the TFM faculty.
  3. Submit two letters of recommendation to be evaluated by the faculty
  4. Complete a minimum of 15 transferable semester units.
  5. Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
  6. Submit samples of creative work.
  7. Submit a treatment for a 1-3 min production (fiction or nonfiction).
  8. Submit unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended.

This advising sheet does not include your General Education Requirements. For General Education Requirements (49 units) consult your general catalog. A minor is not required for this major.
